09 Jun BCQS Inspires Grade 9 Students at Precious Treasures International High School Career Symposium
BCQS International recently had the opportunity to participate in the career symposium at Precious Treasures International High School. The event provided an exceptional platform for BCQS to engage with grade 9 students and share valuable insights about the profession of Quantity Surveying and Valuations.
BCQS team members from our TCI office, Chiara Davis, Rosie Nicholls, and Brandon Straker led the interactive session. Their collective expertise and passion for the industry shone through as they interacted with students, offering guidance, and shedding light on the numerous opportunities within the field.
The student’s level of engagement showed a genuine passion and curiosity about Quantity Surveying and Valuations, with many questions from students and teachers guiding the discussion. One question that stood out was: how do women find working in a male-dominated profession? In response, our team emphasised the importance of challenging traditional gender roles and embracing diversity in the workplace. We highlighted the progress made in breaking down barriers and empowering women in the industry. By showcasing successful women in the industry, we hope to have inspired students to pursue their passions regardless of societal expectations.
Brandon shared his path to becoming a surveyor, while Rosie and Chiara elaborated on the roles, responsibilities, subject areas, and academic foundations essential for success in the Quantity Surveying and Valuations profession.
BCQS remains committed to empowering the next generation of Quantity Surveyors and Valuers within our local communities. We will continue to actively engage with educational institutions and events, providing valuable insights and guidance to help students navigate their career paths.
